In line with a great deal of Aboriginal tradition and language the word Jungara has many different meanings. Jungara is the name of place surrounding the local mountainside homestead acreage of Jungara Gallery founder Mr Peter Von Brunschot. Jungara is also the indigenous name for a beautiful native hard wood timber tree also known as the black bean tree and in NSW the word Jungara represents the Pelican Dreaming story.

The layered meanings of the word Jungara is synonymous with the Aboriginal art and culture represented by Jungara Gallery.

The strength of our incredible collection is in the diversity of styles and artworks from all over Australia including local artists. Our visitors enjoy a uniquely indigenous visual experience whilst our trained gallery staff share the value of Aboriginal oral history through dreamtime stories and conveying cultural traditions. Consultation is provided for aboriginal fine art investment including artist’s profiles and certificates of authenticity.

Currently on display and available for purchase are the works of Clifford Possum, Max Mansell, Ronnie Tjampitjinpa, Dorothy Napangardi, Michael Nelson Jagamara, Walala Tjapaltjarri and William Jungala King and many other talented artists.
