Putipula Gallery (coming from the english word meaning ‘pretty flower’), currently stocks artwork from community based Aboriginal art centres in the remote Central Desert region of the ‘APY Lands’ (Anangu Pitjantjatjara/Yankunytjatjara), Urban & Western Desert.

Gillian Steel, Gallery Director personally visits the remote Aboriginal communities to source the magnificent work. Through this travel, strong relationships between the Art Centres and Putipula Gallery have been developed. The gallery presents quality Aboriginal art from community based organisations ensuring maximum financial return for the artists and their communities. These art centres are a way of ensuring cultural activitie are maintained and approached in the correct way and provides a way to pass on their culture through the artwork.

The work currently on show, is from talented emerging artists and all paintings come with a certificate of authenticity directly from the community, provenance assured.
