The Mosman Art Gallery presents a diverse exhibitions program from local, regional, national and international sources and covers the visual arts, craft and design, including historical and contemporary themes and subjects.

On Friday 13 July 2007, Adrian Newstead, the Director of Coo-ee Aboriginal Art Gallery in Sydney, made a donation to the Mosman Art Collection of 20 original prints by various Aboriginal artists, including such distinguished figures as Banduk Marika, David Malangi, Phillip Gudthaykudthay and Johnny Bulunbulun.

The donation will enable the Mosman Art Gallery to present, for the first time, small temporary exhibitions of Aboriginal art and to prepare education programs and activities for students and residents. As a collection, these works represent important aspects of Aboriginal culture and heritage such as dreamtime stories, representations of country, corroborees and body art.

Previous to this donation the Mosman Art Gallery indigeneous art collection consisted of one painting. The acquisition of this important body of works has enabled the Gallery’s collection to be more comprehensive in its representation of Australian artists.
