Aboriginal Art Connections specialise in creating tailor made art focused tours for individuals and small groups. Our fully escorted tours explore the Aboriginal art world of Australia’s Northern Territory and Kimberley remote communities, promising a rich cultural and collecting experience.
By flying over the country these works have originated from, you will gain an insight into the landscape, colours and beauty that has inspired artists for thousands of years. We visit Aboriginal art centres that are community managed, ethically representing the artists from the local community and surrounding outstations; each playing a pivotal role in helping to maintain pride and connection to culture across generations.
You will have the opportunity to see a wide variety of art styles and media from well known and emerging artists.
If you appreciate the art you have seen in galleries, museums and catalogues, you will find that visiting these remote communities will be a fascinating experience that will help put these striking designs into perspective.
About Aboriginal Art Connections
Have you often looked at the beauty of Aboriginal art and wondered about its background, or about the landscape that inspired the colours, and the communities and country that these amazing artists come from? Have you been to a gallery and met or heard about some of the artists who are a long way from home and thought about walking in their footsteps and experiencing their land and culture? We can offer you that opportunity.
We put together trips throughout the Northern Territory and Kimberley for art enthusiasts who want to know more about their art, who want to be connected with the origins of their pieces and discover the marvellous land that inspires the artists. We can connect you with what you’re seeking in order to broaden your knowledge or appreciation of Aboriginal Art, whether it’s a visit to an ancient rock art site, a contemporary gallery, community art centre or cultural tour – we design our itineraries to suit your personal needs.
Aboriginal Art Connections make all the necessary travel arrangements, permits, hotels, transfers and art centre visits to enable you to get off the beaten track to visit established art centres who will warmly welcome you. All visits are pre-booked to ensure personal attention from gallery managers who will arrange careful packing, shipment and insurance of any pieces you may purchase along the way.
Flying over this landscape is amazing, with its rich vibrant colours and spectacular topography.
The principals of Aboriginal Art Connections, Bill Zammit, Tracey Vince and Joy Eggenhuizen have collectively over forty years experience working and travelling through Kakadu National Park and Arnhem Land. In that time we have gained a deep appreciation and understanding of Aboriginal art and culture, historical and local knowledge and established solid relationships with community art centres across the region. Our strong tourism background provides us with the ability to ensure a hassle free journey throughout remote communities. Coupled with our contacts in the art world, we believe we can deliver an experience second to none for the avid Aboriginal art enthusiast or novice.
