Kuju Aboriginal Arts is an Aboriginal owned and operated Gallery & art centre showcasing local aboriginal art from Port Lincoln and the Wangka Wilurrara Region.
Kuju officially opened on March 16th 2006, (at its current location) and has a range of artists who work in silk paintings, canvas and smaller craft items.
Kuju has conducted successful exhibitions with many artworks being purchased by collectors both nationally and internationally.
The art from the region expresses culture, stories, lifestyle & family and reflects the colours of land & sea and is created both traditionally and with new mediums being explored giving a unique feel to the artworks being created. Kuju (meaning number 1 in Pitjantjatjara) has a diverse and impressive range of quality Authentic Aboriginal artwork, artefacts, bush foods & souvenirs on display and available for purchase.
Kuju has created positive outcomes in terms of providing a source of income for artists and a level of economic independence. Kuju also provides new skill workshops, training, materials, working environment and facilities for the production, promotion and sales of aboriginal visual arts.
‘The Tracey Gallery’ allows for local artists to exhibit their artwork and is named in memory of Tracey Miller (deceased). Artwork can be purchased directly from the Gallery with Eftpos, Lay-by and major credit cards accepted.
The Gallery is open Monday to Friday 10am-4pm or by appointment through contacting the coordinator on the number provided.
