Aboriginal Art A&I (Art and Ideas) by Howard Murphy is a study of the variety of Australian Aboriginal art and the relationships between Aboriginal artforms including dance, song, paintings on bark and paintings on canvas startingt from the Wandjina figures and progressing to modern Aboriginal art.
Aboriginal Art A&I (Art and Ideas) is a 448 page paperback that is wonderfully illustrated. It was published by Phaidon Press in 1998.
Professor Howard Morphy is the Director of the Research School of Humanities and Head of the Centre for Cross-Cultural Research at the Australian National University. Prof Morphy is associated with the Kluge-Ruhe Collection and helped to assemble it.
